Wimbledon Common

Windmill Road, Wimbledon Common, London SW19 5NR, United Kingdom. (Open Map)

Wimbledon Common blankets a massive 460 hectares of southwest London, with Putney Heath surging on beyond. Offering the perfect opportunity to explore the wild and wooded expanse on foot, the common is also ideal for nature trailing and picnicking – with its own 1817 windmill serving as a reminder of its past. On the southern side of the common, the misnamed Caesar's Camp still remains of the earthen fort built in the 5th century BC. To reach the spectacular common, catch bus 93 from any of the local Wimbledon tube, train or tram stations.
