Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress

The Tower of London is a historic fortress on the north bank of the Thames. It is the oldest building used by the British government, and its primary function was a fortress, a royal palace, and a prison for high status and royal prisoners. Now the Tower hosts the Crown Jewels and other attractions.

The Tower of London is included in all of the haunted London tours, reputedly being the most haunted building in England. Famous ghosts include Henry VI, Lady Jane Grey, Margaret Pole, the Princes in the Tower (Edward V of England and Richard of Shrewsbury) and Queen Anne Boleyn. Currently, the Tower is managed by Historic Royal Palaces and it is one of the most popular touristic attractions in the city.
