Description
The Shard viewing platform tickets lead to a place where London flattens into a map. The lift carries you to the 72nd floor, Western Europe's highest viewing level, with visibility of up to 40 miles.
Nothing limits your time up there. Stay inside the glass and turn slowly through the 360-degree panorama, or walk out onto the open-air level if you want to test your nerves. Multimedia displays tell the story of London's history, and the champagne bar offers a seat with a view.
- Skyline from around 800 feet up
- Open-air platform on the top viewing level
- Exhibits on the history of London
Look up before you go, too. The tower's glass facets are sculpted to lean inwards without joining, so the summit ends in separate glass points at 1,016 feet (310 metres). The boutique at the end sells a souvenir photo as an optional extra. There is no guide, so you move at your own speed.
