Description

An HMS Belfast ticket with audio tour lets you board the Royal Navy ship that sailed from World War II to the Cold War, then follow an audio walk along the South Bank.

An HMS Belfast ticket with audio tour takes you aboard a warship on the Thames and then along the South Bank, in about two hours. The ship was built for the Royal Navy, took part in the D-Day fleet and was hit by a German mine. Once it was mended and restored it became a museum, with interactive exhibits that let you take the wheel, feed the crew and more.

On board you can wander down to the deepest parts of the ship and see the living quarters, with the audio guide to explain what you are looking at. Be ready for ladders between decks and some loud recordings of gunfire and alarms.

When you step off, the second audio tour takes over, with 14 points of interest along the riverside, from the Golden Hinde to Somerset House and Borough Market. Walk it at your own pace. Commentary is available in six languages, Chinese among them.

After booking you get a link to download the audio app. Bring your own headphones and phone, as a headset and device are not provided, and there are no guides or transport. There is no cloakroom and large bags are not allowed. The ship is not recommended for people with restricted mobility or for children under 4 feet tall.
