Description

Syon House is now open to the public and is popular for its grandeur and stunning gardens. Once a medieval abbey named after Mt Zion, Syon House was dissolved on the orders of Henry VIII and transformed into a grand residence. This is the same house where Lady Jane Grey ascended the throne for her nine-day reign in 1553 and was later remodelled in the neoclassical style by Robert Adam during the 18th century. The house is complete with Adam furniture and oak panelling, and is now open to the public for viewing. Visitors can marvel at Syon House's grandeur as well as its beautiful gardens.
