The oldest of the Royal Parks of London

Surrounded by the Buckingham Palace, The Mall and St. James's Palace, the Horse Guards and the Birdcage Walk, the 23 hectare (58 acre) St. James's Park is one of the city's most beautiful green spots. It has a small lake with two islands, Duck Island and West Island.

The Duck Island is the home to many ducks, gulls, swans, geese, and pelicans. Some rarer visitors are the golden eye, carrion crows, grey wagtail and shovelers. St. James's Park welcomes over 5.5 million visitors every year and it is one of the most visited Parks in Europe.
