Description

If you're on the Strand, search for a black door adorned with studs, labelled "Middle Temple Lane" opposite the Bell Yard and the Royal Courts building. When you go through, you'll be in a large compound containing the Temple Church and Elizabethan Middle Temple Hall. The church was established by the secretive Knights Templar in the mid-12th century while the hall was reconstructed after being destroyed during World War II. You'll find charming gardens and courtyards scattered throughout.
