Description
Public park in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets
Located at the southern end of the Isle of Dogs, the Island Gardens park is relatively new in London's scenery. The park was opened in 1895 by Will Crooks, a prominent local politician, as part of a larger local improvements project he instigated.
The Island Gardens park is notable for the spectacular cross-river view of the classical buildings of the former Greenwich Hospital, the Cutty Sark and the National Maritime Museum. Island Gardens is also a World Heritage site.
