The first Buddhist temple in the UK
Buddhapadipa Temple is home to Thai Buddhist monks and nuns, but it is also open for public visits. The temple was founded in 1965, but the Ubosot building you see today way erected in 1982.
Inside the Buddhapadipa Temple you can admire paintings by Chalermchai Kositpipat and Panya Vijinthanasarn depicting the life of the Buddha from birth till death. There is also a great shrine built for the Buddha, with other beautiful artworks, including sculptures, candles and colorful decorations.
