Description
A Thames cruise with afternoon tea is one of three ways to see London from the water, and you pick the one that fits your day. The tea cruise lasts 90 minutes, the coffee cruise the same, and the evening dinner cruise about two and a half hours.
- Afternoon tea cruise: sandwiches such as ham with Dijon mustard, warm scones, lemon tart and banoffee pie, with tea or coffee as you like
- Top-deck coffee cruise: a hot drink and a snack bar, with live commentary and the best views (it does not include the tea package)
- Dinner cruise: a two-course meal inspired by English favourites, a dessert and soft live music
Whichever you choose, the scenery stays the same: Tower Bridge ahead of you, the South Bank along the river and Big Ben over the water as you pass. Drinks are sold on board. In December the boat is decorated, with seasonal music and a menu of its own.
A few practical points. The dinner and weekend brunch options are for adults only, and afternoon tea is not for children under five. Most dietary needs can be met with 72 hours' notice, but not Kosher. Wheelchair access may be difficult, because the boat has no lift.
