Description
The Camden canal boat trip begins at Camden Town and lasts 90 minutes on one of London's oldest canal routes. It is the only cruise of its kind to pass through the Hampstead Road Lock at Camden, so you watch a working lock do its job from the water.
You travel aboard the colourful Jenny Wren, a classic canal boat with a full-length canopy, so you can sit back and watch the banks go by. The crew gives a commentary as you go, with stories and history about the canal and the places beside it.
- the Hampstead Road Lock at Camden
- London Zoo and Regent's Park
- a short canal tunnel and Robert Browning's Island at Little Venice
After Little Venice the boat turns round and returns to Camden, where you step off and can carry on with your day. Boarding involves stairs, and because of the boat's age it is exempt from current disability access rules, so anyone with mobility concerns should contact the operator before booking.
